cookie policy

During navigation of our site, in order to provide users a smoother experience through better presentation of information, some data may be collected through small text files called cookies.
This policy is intended to help users understand what cookies are, how we use them, and how they can possibly be disabled. Users can in fact always request their deactivation by changing their browser settings, but such deactivation may slow down or prevent access to certain parts of the site.
Users are in any case assured that in addition to the above-mentioned browsing data, no other personal data will be collected by us, except, of course, data voluntarily provided by users. EDIZIONI MARGHERITA DI MARGHERITA TIZZI (hereafter, the Data Controller) complies with the provisions contained in the Italian Personal Data Protection Code (hereafter, the Privacy Code), as amended by Legislative Decree n. 69 of May 28, 2012, in transposition of European Directive 2009/136/CE.

What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file exchanged between the visited website and the user’s computer, tablet, smartphone, cell phone or any device used to surf the Internet capable of storing the user’s browsing information and preferences. When the same site is visited again, the browser checks for the presence of a recognized cookie so that it can read the information it contains, thus ensuring easier navigation for the user. Various cookies contain different information and are used for different purposes (performing computer authentications, monitoring sessions, storing information about specific configurations regarding users accessing the server, storing preferences, etc.). While browsing the site, the user’s computer may also receive cookies sent by different sites (third-party sites), to which some elements present on the site the user is visiting may pertain (e.g., images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains, etc.). More generally, some cookies (called session cookies) are stored on the user’s computer only for the duration of access to the site and expire automatically when the browser is closed. Other cookies (called persistent cookies) remain on the computer for a longer period of time.
Types of cookies

Cookies can be classified as:
1. session cookies, which are removed when the user closes the browser and which, therefore, have a limited duration, only as long as the user is visiting the site;
2. permanent cookies, which remain on the device used to browse the Internet for a specified time. These cookies have standard expiration dates, so their duration varies depending on the cookie used;
3. proprietary and third-party cookies, which may belong to the website owner or a third party.

Our site uses the following categories of cookies:
Technical / Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of our website and to use and/or improve the various features and services requested. Without these cookies, it would be impossible to manage and remember, among other things, user authentication, access to the private area of the website, the contents of the shopping cart for online purchases, electronic invoicing, and the purchase process for orders.
Pursuant to Directive 2009/136/EC, transposed by Legislative Decree No. 69 of May 28, 2012, and the provision of the Italian Guarantor for the protection of personal data regarding the Identification of simplified procedures for the provision of information and acquisition of consent for the use of cookies of May 8, 2014, published in the Official Gazette No. 126 of June 3, 2014, since technical cookies are essential for the proper functioning of a website, they can also be used without the user’s prior consent, without prejudice to the obligation to provide information pursuant to Article 13 of the Privacy Code.

Analytics cookies
The use of these cookies is essential to refine our users’ browsing experience on the site by monitoring and analyzing their behavior (e.g., keeping track of frequently visited pages, user preferences, products already viewed to prevent them from being repeated, as well as to assess whether or not the advertising on the site is effective). This data is aggregated and does not allow the user to be personally identified, and is therefore anonymous. The site also uses the Google Analytics web analytics service provided by Google. Google Analytics uses cookies (both temporary and permanent) for the purpose of collecting, in anonymous form, information about how users use our website (including IP addresses) that will be transmitted from the user’s browser to Google’s servers based in the United States. More information about the Google Analytics service and the procedures you can follow to disable cookies can be found at the following links:

Advertising and Behavioral Targeting Cookies
These cookies are used by the Data Controller to collect data on the user’s browsing habits and preferences to develop a specific profile for customization of the commercial offer, to perform market research or remote selling. The user can decide to refuse the use of this category of cookies by using the opt-out tool provided on the settings page of their browser, or as specified below.
Third party and Social Media Cookies
Our website may allow the use of third-party cookies that may collect information about users’ movements on the Internet. In addition, some pages on our website feature social media plugins which allow users to share our content on social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Third-party cookies are not under our control, therefore, for more information on how the third party uses cookies, we recommend that users visit the website of the third party itself. More information about the cookie policies adopted by major social media networks can be found by clicking the following links:

Data Storage

Data collected through cookies may be kept depending on their nature: session cookies expire when the user closes the browser; persistent cookies have standard expiration dates that, barring special exceptions, do not exceed 20 years.

The Data Controller reserves the right to make changes to this cookie policy. Users are thus encouraged to visit this page periodically to be informed of any changes.
